Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139). Feeds primarily on blue-green cyanobacteria, but also ingest lesser quantities of small invertebrates (mostly chironomid larvae, ostracods, and copepods). They forage continuously during the day but become inactive during the night (www.death-valley.us).
