Vertebrae: 26. Body with 4 oblique, broad, cross-bands and tail with horizontal bands. Posterior edge of orbit with fleshy papillae. Anterior dorsal spines shorter than the posteriors with 6th or 8th spine longest in head length. Auxillary scales on body absent; a row of minute scales just behind each dorsal spine (Ref. 40965).
