Found in estuaries, lagoons and inshore waters over sand or mud, in seagrass or on algae. Feed on crustaceans (larger amphipods, isopods, shrimps, mysids, small crabs), bivalves, gastropods, polychaetes, chironomid larvae, sometimes small fish (Ref. 4696).
